A new Rugby League Live title is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC this year, publisher Tru Blu Entertainment has announced.

Like its predecessors, Rugby League Live 4 is in development at Big Ant Studios.

Rugby League Live aside, Big Ant has plenty of experience with sports games: it has two AFL and four cricket titles to its name, including Don Bradman Cricket 17a game we enjoyed a fair amount at release.

Last year, Big Ant also released something called Masquerade: The Baubles of Doom, which I think we can all agree is a terrible name for a game that's only slightly redeemed by the use of the word "baubles".

Unfortunately Rugby League Live 4 is an officially sanctioned NRL product, so it can't be called Rugby League Live 4: Balls and Baubles.

"The Rugby League Live series of video games not only lets our fans interact and have fun with a great representation of the sport, but also helps increase attention and interest for the younger generations,” said NRL general manager of consumer business Shaun McMartin.

"The NRL is pleased to be associated with the next great title, Rugby League Live 4."
